TBSE Announces Results for Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations
Tripura, 1 May 2025: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) today announced the results of the 2025 Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations, including Madrasa Alim, Fazil Arts, and Fazil Theology. The pass percentage for Madhyamik is 86.53%, while the pass percentage for Higher Secondary stands at 79.29%. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the TBSE auditorium by Board President Dr. Dhananjoy Gan Choudhury.
Dr. Choudhury informed that a total of 29,670 students from 1,019 schools appeared in the Madhyamik exam, with 13,861 boys and 15,809 girls. A total of 25,673 students passed, while only 827 failed. As many as 345 schools recorded a 100% pass rate, and no school recorded 100% failure. About 3,169 students are eligible to sit for the “Save a Year” supplementary exam.
South Tripura district topped the pass percentage list, followed by Gomati and Sepahijala districts. A heartening story emerged from Kamalchhara High School in Dhalai district, where Romeo Rakhal, a specially-abled student, passed the exam by writing with his feet and scored 165 marks. Regarding the Higher Secondary results, 21,506 students from 373 schools appeared for the examination, including 9,920 boys and 11,586 girls. A total of 17,052 students passed, while 1,442 failed. Around 3,002 students are eligible for the supplementary exam.
Thirty-nine schools achieved a 100% pass rate, while three schools saw 100% failure. Sepahijala district led in pass percentage, followed by South Tripura and West Tripura. TBSE Secretary Dr. Dulal Dey, also present at the press conference, shared detailed statistics. The Madhyamik examination was conducted from February 25 to March 18 across 68 centers.
Among the examinees, 28,613 were regular students, 303 continuing, 611 compartmental, 26 external compartmental, 116 external, and 1 from other categories. There were 111 Alim examinees, of which 73 passed; 24 are eligible for the supplementary exam. Among 166 differently-abled candidates, 110 passed.
The Higher Secondary exam was held from February 24 to March 22 in 60 centers. Of the candidates, 20,767 were regular, 324 continuing, 287 compartmental, 112 external, and 16 from other categories. Among 98 differently-abled candidates, 70 passed. In terms of streams, 459 students appeared from the Commerce stream, with 405 passing.
In the Science stream, 2,184 appeared and 2,150 passed. In the Humanities stream, 18,795 students took the exam and 14,435 passed. For Fazil Arts, 18 students appeared and 15 passed, while in Fazil Theology, 50 appeared and 47 passed. The evaluation of answer sheets for Madhyamik began on April 2 and concluded on April 20, while the Higher Secondary evaluation concluded on April 22.
Mark sheets will be distributed soon. Students wishing to apply for review must submit their forms to their schools between May 7 and May 9, and schools must forward the forms to TBSE by May 13. The supplementary exams will be held in June.
Dr. Choudhury also highlighted the performance of students from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) regions and mentioned that these are provisional results. The list of the top 10 rank holders will be announced after the complete examination process concludes. He extended thanks to all teachers, staff, and departments involved in conducting and evaluating the exams.
