Rescue Efforts Hampered as Recovery Crane Overturns After Truck Accident
Tripura, 31 March 2025: A tragic road accident occurred in Nepali Tila, Malaynagar, under Srinagar police station, when a sand-laden truck lost control and plunged 40 feet down.
Three workers inside the vehicle were injured, one of them critically. The driver, identified as Rakesh Debnath (38), died on the spot. He was a resident of Anandanagar, 10 No. Para, and is survived by his wife and two sons.
Locals say that such accidents happen frequently due to high-speed driving of sand trucks in the area. The rescue operation faced an unexpected setback when the recovery crane, brought in to lift the overturned truck, lost balance and toppled over, further complicating the situation.
