Tripura 23 March, 2025: The Tripura government is taking various measures to digitalize ration cards, including linking them with Aadhaar cards and implementing the “One Nation, One Ration Card” (ONORC) scheme.
The state’s Food Department has set March 31 as the deadline for linking Aadhaar with ration cards. Notably, Tripura is the first northeastern state to implement the ONORC scheme. To enhance public welfare, the state has created an online platform that integrates the ration card database. This digital system will enable beneficiaries to access ration services from anywhere in the country.
However, many ration cardholders in Tripura are not paying enough attention to the government’s directives. With just eight days left until the deadline, more than half of the consumers have yet to complete their KYC (Know Your Customer) process. This negligence could hinder the government’s initiative.
Ration dealers have urged all beneficiaries to visit ration shops with their Aadhaar and ration cards by March 31 to complete the KYC process and contribute to the successful implementation of the government’s scheme.
