Guwahati, March 7 (SHABD): The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the construction of a two-lane bridge over the Brahmaputra, connecting Majuli and Jorhat.
The project has received a Revised Cost Estimate of approximately Rs 700 crore. The approval marks a significant step towards improving connectivity and infrastructure in Assam. The next phase of the project will involve inviting tenders for construction.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma shared this development on social media, assuring that the work will resume soon. The bridge is expected to greatly benefit the residents of Majuli, enhancing accessibility and boosting economic activities in the region.
