Agartala, February 19: The Central Government has allocated an additional ₹288.93 crore to Tripura from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for damages caused by the August 2024 floods. The high-level committee, chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, approved this fund allocation today.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the additional central assistance, stating that this allocation will help in providing relief and support to those affected by the floods in the state.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved a total of ₹1,554.99 crore in additional central assistance to Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura under the NDRF. This is in addition to the ₹18,322.80 crore already released by the Centre to 27 states under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
