SHABD, Delhi Air, February 19: The 395th birth anniversary of the great Maratha warrior-king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is being celebrated today. Born on this day in 1630 at Shivneri Fort in Pune district, Maharashtra, Chhatrapati Shivaji laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire and challenged Mughal rule. He is known for his progressive leadership, military prowess, bravery, intelligence, and dedication to the idea of Swarajya (self-rule).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr. Modi stated that Shivaji’s valor and visionary leadership laid the foundation of Swarajya and inspired generations to uphold the values of courage and justice. The Prime Minister emphasized that Shivaji Maharaj continues to inspire citizens to build a strong, self-reliant, and prosperous nation.
