Tripura 15 Feb, 2025: A fatal road accident occurred on National Highway 8 near Khadimpur, under Churaibari Police Station in the Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura district. One person died, and two others were injured in the head-on collision between a car and a bike on Friday night around 9:30 PM.
According to reports, two youths were riding a bike (registration number TR05F/7366) from Khadimpur towards Churaibari when a car (registration number TR05F/0768) coming from the opposite direction collided with the bike in front of a local crusher near Khadimpur. The impact was so severe that the bike was completely smashed, and the luxury car was heavily damaged. The two riders were thrown onto the road due to the collision.
Hearing the loud crash, locals rushed to the scene and informed the fire department at Premtala. Firefighters promptly arrived, rescued the injured, and took them to Kadamtala Social Health Center. Upon arrival, the on-duty doctor, Bimal Das, declared one of the bike riders dead. The injured bike rider, in critical condition, was referred to Dharmanagar District Hospital after receiving initial treatment.
The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Joynal Uddin, son of Jamal Uddin, a resident of Ward No. 3 under Laxminagar Gram Panchayat in Churaibari. The critically injured youth has been identified as 18-year-old Taj Uddin, son of Almas Uddin, from Ward No. 4 under Baghan Gram Panchayat in the same police station area.
According to local resident Mohammad Kamal Uddin, both the bike and the car were speeding, and the collision occurred as both vehicles attempted to overtake. Upon receiving the news, Churaibari Police and Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Police Officer rushed to the scene. The police have registered a case and started an investigation into the accident. Meanwhile, the injured car driver is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Late at night, the critically injured bike rider was referred to a hospital outside the state.
