Tripura 11 Feb, 2025: Sustainable development in the Northeast is possible through reducing transportation costs, ensuring a market-ready workforce, and integrating technological advancements with the region’s natural resources, biodiversity, and tourism potential. To achieve this goal, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the School of Logistics, Communication & Waterways (SLCW), SIPARD, and the Logistics Sector Skill Council, Chennai. The primary objective of this MoU is to ensure a skilled and employable workforce in the logistics sector, benefiting Tripura and the entire Northeast region.
The agreement was signed by Chief Engineer of the School of Logistics, Sushanta Dutta, and CEO of the Logistics Sector Skill Council, Ravikant Yamarthi.
Speaking at the MoU signing event held at SIPARD, Tripura’s Finance Secretary and SIPARD Director, Apurba Roy, emphasized that both the central and state governments are prioritizing the development of Tripura’s logistics infrastructure. He highlighted the expanding trade opportunities and employment prospects in the Northeast and stressed that increased collaboration between government departments and industries, along with the introduction of logistics-related courses in technical education institutions, will help shape a “Viksit Tripura” (Developed Tripura) in the coming years.
Among those present at the event were Ravi Gujju, Head of Projects at the Logistics Sector Skill Council, representatives from CII’s Tripura chapter, and other government officials.
