Tripura 10 Feb, 2025: Ambassa police have once again achieved success in their anti-narcotics operation. As part of routine checks, a search was conducted at the Bet Bagan naka point on Monday evening. During the operation, police intercepted a 12-wheeler truck from another state and found a massive consignment of Yaba tablets hidden inside its fuel tanker.
Upon thorough inspection, the police recovered 9.24 lakh Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth around ₹28 crore in the illegal market. Following the discovery, both the truck driver and his assistant were taken into custody.
Upon receiving the news, Dhalai District Superintendent of Police, Mihir Lal Das, along with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, rushed to the scene to oversee the situation. The Dhalai SP stated, “As part of our ongoing anti-drug drive, we had set up naka checking points. During one such search, we intercepted the truck and recovered the Yaba tablets. Two individuals have been detained, and further interrogation is underway.”
Chief Minister of Tripura took to social media to commend the police, calling it a “Big win for Nasha Mukt Tripura!” He wrote,
“Dhalai Police intercepted a vehicle carrying 9,24,000 Yaba Tablets worth ₹28 cr, arresting 2 individuals & registering a case under the NDPS Act. Kudos to Dhalai District Police for their tireless efforts.”
