Agartala 9 Feb, 2025: Tripura has witnessed significant improvements in healthcare services, with modern treatment facilities now available in hospitals across the state. The government is prioritizing the expansion of quality healthcare by developing advanced medical infrastructure.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha highlighted this during the inauguration of the 55th All Tripura Medical Conference, organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Tripura State Branch, at Sukanta Academy Auditorium in Agartala this evening.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government is also focusing on medical education. At present, the state has three medical colleges, a dental college, and nursing colleges. He emphasized that doctors are the backbone of healthcare services and hold a highly respected position in society. He urged people to place their trust in the state’s doctors and healthcare workers. Additionally, he wished success for the conference organized by the IMA Tripura branch.
During the inaugural event, senior doctors of the state were felicitated, with the Chief Minister presenting them with mementos. The top three rank holders of the 2024 MBBS examination were also honored. A commemorative souvenir was released to mark the occasion, with the Chief Minister unveiling its cover.
Prominent speakers at the event included Director of Health Services Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, Dr. Soumitra Mallik, and Dr. Basab Ghosh. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Abhijit Sarkar, while Dr. Joy Chakraborty proposed the vote of thanks.
