Khowai 11 Jan, 2025: Kalyanpur Police Station area witnessed a tragic incident as the body of a 26-year-old youth was found floating in a pond near Bagan Bazar High School. The deceased has been identified as Nitish Dubey, son of Jagdish Dubey.
The incident came to light early in the morning when locals spotted the body in the pond and immediately informed the police. Officer-in-charge of Kalyanpur Police Station, Tapas Malakar, along with other police personnel and fire service workers, reached the spot and retrieved the body.
According to police sources, a preliminary investigation has been initiated, and the body has been sent for post-mortem. The exact cause of death remains unknown at this stage. Authorities are exploring all possibilities, including accident, suicide, or foul play, but confirmation will only come after a thorough investigation.
