Dharmanagar 2 Jan, 2025: Minister Tinku Roy, holding portfolios for Youth Affairs, Sports, Labor, Social Welfare, and Social Education, inaugurated the 27th Cultural Fair and Exhibition organized by Aradhana Cultural Society and the Department of Information and Culture. The event was held at Bargol High School ground in Dharmanagar subdivision, North Tripura. This five-day event, which began on Thursday at 4 PM, will run until January 6.
The ceremony started with Minister Tinku Roy lighting a ceremonial lamp. Distinguished guests included District Chairperson Aparna Nath, Chief Medical Officer Deepak Haldar, social worker Kajal Das, Vice Chairman of Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti Vidya Bhushan Das, and Mihir Ranjan Nath, Secretary of Aradhana Cultural Society.
The program featured the unveiling of the Ishika magazine and performances by 38 children showcasing traditional dances. Folk art forms such as Baul, Bihu, Dhamaail, and Saari dances were performed by 18 artists, adding vibrancy to the occasion.
In his speech, Minister Tinku Roy described Bargol village as a cultural hub, recognizing the Aradhana Cultural Society for independently organizing this event for 25 years. Since 2023, the fair has been officially included in the state government’s calendar.
The minister also highlighted various developmental projects aimed at uplifting the region, including:
• A modern building for Kadamtala Social Hospital.
• Road infrastructure improvements in Kadamtala market.
• A ₹200-crore bamboo industry in Unakoti.
• Drug rehabilitation centers across districts, with a major facility in Bishramganj.
• The transformation of Unakoti into a pilgrimage destination with a ₹60-crore investment.
The five-day fair also features various government department stalls and vendors from far-off places, enhancing the cultural and economic vibrancy of the region.
