Tripura 27 Dec, 2024: To maintain peace, stability, and security in public life, the District Magistrate of Unakoti has issued an order imposing restrictions on public movement within a 3-kilometer radius of the India-Bangladesh border. Under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), this order will remain in effect daily from 6 PM to 6 AM, starting January 1, 2025, until March 31, 2025.
As per the directive, gatherings of more than five individuals will be prohibited in the specified area. Carrying weapons such as sticks, bows and arrows, sharp bamboo poles, bicycle chains, iron rods, knives, firearms, or explosives is strictly forbidden. However, the restrictions will not apply to police personnel, BSF troops, TSR, Assam Rifles, or individuals engaged in law enforcement duties.
The order also exempts individuals with valid permission from district authorities, police, BSF, or other law enforcement agencies, as well as drivers of vehicles transporting critically ill patients or individuals purchasing life-saving medicines.
