The Information Technology Department of Tripura has been awarded the National Digital Transformation Awards 2024 for its notable achievements in delivering high-quality services, driving innovation, and bringing positive change to the state. This award recognizes the department’s efforts in improving public services and enhancing citizens’ quality of life through digital technology.
The announcement was made during the 15th National Digital Transformation Conclave 2024, held on December 13 in Guwahati. The Director of the IT Department, Jaya Regul Geshan B., attended as a distinguished speaker, presenting various departmental initiatives. Following the conclave, she accepted the prestigious award on behalf of the department.
The department was recognized for its Beneficiary Management System (BMS) platform initiative, launched in the 2020-21 financial year. The platform has integrated 100 welfare schemes from 23 government departments entirely online. So far, 1,164,163 beneficiaries have been included, and ₹1,634.45 crore has been distributed through the platform.
The BMS-DBT platform ensures accountability, transparency, and efficiency, eliminating fake beneficiaries, simplifying processes, and encouraging paperless operations and citizen participation.
Established in 1999 under the Industries and Commerce Department, the IT Directorate has continuously worked to meet the evolving needs of Tripura. This award is a recognition of the department’s efforts and dedication.
