Agartala 11 November, 2024: A candidate at Bani Vidyapith School, appearing for the Senior Computer Assistant examination for the Industries and Commerce department, was detained after being caught with a mobile phone in the examination hall. The incident occurred when invigilators noticed the device during the exam, leading to immediate intervention.
Following the discovery, a formal complaint was lodged at the West Agartala Police Station. Consequently, an official case was registered under case number 136/2024, citing sections 223 and 318(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, (BNS) Act, as well as section 10 of the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act.
The accused, identified as Bishwajit Chakraborty, now faces legal proceedings under these charges for violating examination protocols.
