Bishramganj 10 November, 2024: Yesterday, the Sachin Debbarman Memorial Kala Kshetra in Bishramganj came alive with excitement as the Sipahijala District Youth Festival and Science Fair took place. The events were inaugurated by Supriya Das Dutta, Chairperson of the Sipahijala Zilla Parishad, who spoke on the significance of youth in nation-building. She highlighted that the youth play an essential role in shaping the nation and society, adding that the current government is focused on initiatives to make Tripura self-reliant in various fields. She urged young people to come forward and contribute positively to this goal.
Various government schemes at both state and central levels aim to empower youth to achieve financial independence, and the events promoted awareness of these initiatives. Addressing the audience, MLA Kishore Barman encouraged the youth to take an active role in nation-building, emphasizing that they are the driving force of the country and that no task can succeed without their participation.
The opening remarks were delivered by Samir Debbarman, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. The event also saw the presence of dignitaries including Subrata Majumder, Additional District Magistrate of Sipahijala, Rinku Lather, and Dwij Goel, BDO of Bishalgarh.
The youth festival included several exhibits set up by various state government departments, displaying programs and initiatives for youth engagement. The top performers in both individual and team categories at the district level will advance to the state-level youth festival.
In conjunction with the youth festival, a science fair was organized by the School Education Department on the grounds of Bishramganj Higher Secondary School. A total of 63 schools from across the district participated, showcasing innovative projects and scientific ideas, reflecting the district’s commitment to fostering scientific curiosity among students.
