Northeast 28-02-23: Himanta Biswa Sharma on North East Elections:Assam Chief Minister and NDA coordinator Himanta Biswa Sharma has claimed that there will be no wave of assemblies in the three northeastern states, Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya and NDA governments will be formed. He said Tripura will have a BJP chief minister, Nagaland will have an alliance chief minister and Meghalaya will be decided on the basis of seats won.
Also, he claimed that none of the NDA partners would have an alliance with the Congress or the Trinamool Congress. Hemant Biswa Sharma’s claim comes after the exit poll results, where the BJP seems to be forming the government with an absolute majority in Tripura.
At the same time, NDPP-BJP coalition government was also seen in Nagaland. At the same time, the NPP was shown as the single largest party in Meghalaya and no one seemed to be getting a majority.
