Tripura, 15 May 2026: CM Manik Saha on Thursday said teachers must remain committed to their responsibilities and open the doors of knowledge for students through quality education and dedicated teaching.
Addressing the appointment letter distribution programme organised by the Tripura School Education Department at Rabindra Bhavan, the Chief Minister said teachers are the real architects of the next generation and should focus on building students into responsible human beings.
He said teachers and students must maintain a healthy relationship and educational institutions should create a positive learning environment. Stressing the importance of modern education, he urged teachers to adopt technology-based teaching methods alongside traditional textbook learning.
At the event, appointment letters were distributed to 865 postgraduate teachers, with the Chief Minister formally handing over letters to 34 candidates.








The Chief Minister said the state government is continuously filling vacant posts across departments while also creating new employment opportunities for educated unemployed youths through a transparent recruitment process. He stated that jobs are now being provided purely on merit without political recommendations and that posting policies are also being implemented transparently.
Highlighting the government’s achievements in the education sector, he said that since 2018, a total of 7,104 teachers have been recruited under the School Education Department, while 21,825 educated unemployed youths have received government jobs across departments through transparent recruitment.
Additionally, 24,078 people have been engaged on contractual and outsourcing basis.
Speaking about educational reforms, the Chief Minister said skill-based education has been introduced in 573 high and higher secondary schools across the state. ICT projects have been implemented in 1,384 government and government-aided schools, while smart classes have been launched in 949 schools.
He also informed that 15 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya schools have been established for the education of girls belonging to ST, SC, OBC and minority communities. Self-defence training for girl students has been introduced in 1,727 schools, alongside awareness programmes on health, child marriage prevention and life skills development.
The government is also implementing the “Saksham Tripura” initiative for specially-abled children and working to align the state’s education system with the objectives of the National Education Policy.
School Education Department Secretary Milind Ramteke said several programmes including Vidya Setu, Nipun Tripura and Smart Classes have been launched for quality education of over 3.07 lakh students in the state.
Director of School Education and Samagra Shiksha Rajib Dutta delivered the welcome address, while SCERT Director L Darlong was also present as a special guest.
