Tripura, 29 Jan 2026: A sensational incident took place near the railway track adjacent to Lakhai Bazaar under Teliamura Police Station on Thursday.
According to local sources, a bag filled with Phensedyl bottles was thrown from a moving train. Upon receiving the information, a large police team from Teliamura Police Station rushed to the spot. The operation was led by Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Kumar Dey.
During the raid, one police personnel was injured following an attack by miscreants. To control the situation, SDPO Rohan Krishan immediately reached the spot.
Due to the prompt action of the police, one bag filled with Phensedyl was recovered from the area. Following the incident, intensive search operations were carried out along the railway track from Teliamura to Agartala via Barmura.
This incident once again highlights how drug smugglers are actively using the railway route to traffic Phensedyl. The police have stated that such networks will be identified and strict action will be taken against those involved.
This is not just a case of drug seizure, but a clear indication of the deep-rooted presence of drug trafficking networks in society. While the police action is commendable, intellectuals and conscious citizens believe that stricter surveillance and more aggressive operations are urgently required in the future.
