Tripura, 25 Jan 2026: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), Purna Chandra Jamatia, today attended the 228th Birth Anniversary of Her Highness Maharani Sudhakshina Devi (Jamatia) at Garia Academy, Atharabla, Udaipur.
The programme was organised by the Maharani Sudhakshina Bwrwi Bodal Central Committee under Jamatia Hoda and was held in the distinguished presence of Maharaj Kumari Pragya Debbarma, Chief Guest of the programme, along with Hoda Okra Bipra Kumar Jamatia, Hoda Okra Manindra Mohan Jamatia, and many other respected dignitaries and community leaders.

On the occasion, Maharaj Kumari Pragya Debbarma presented two ceremonial small swords as a mark of honour to Hoda Okra Bipra Kumar Jamatia and Hoda Okra Manindra Mohan Jamatia, symbolising tradition, respect, and the rich cultural heritage of the Jamatia community.
Later in the evening, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia, accompanied by Maharaj Kumari Pragya Debbarma and other responsible dignitaries, inspected the ongoing construction of the 1,000-seated capacity Auditorium Hall at Garia Academy, Atharabla, Udaipur. The inspection reviewed the progress of the project, which is expected to serve as a major cultural and community centre in the region.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Maharaj Kumari Pragya Debbarma said that commemorating the birth anniversary of Maharani Sudhakshina Devi, the queen of Maharaj Krishna Kishore Manikya and mother of Maharaj Kishan Chandra Manikya and Maharaj Bir Chandra Manikya, is a moment of pride and joy. She recalled the historical contributions of the Maharani and the royal family to Tripura.
She stressed the importance of maintaining “Thansa” (unity and harmony) among the Jamatia community and all Tiprasa communities, stating that unity is essential for the progress of Tripura and for securing a better future for coming generations. Highlighting the role of women, she praised the women organisers for successfully conducting the programme and said that such initiatives strengthen women empowerment. She reaffirmed a collective commitment to work for society, community welfare, and social harmony.
The programme concluded with a message of unity, cultural pride, and renewed determination to work together for the development of Tripura.
