Tripura, 13 Jan 2026: Children must be given the freedom to develop their thoughts from within. Instead of imposing our own opinions on them, we should allow them to grow in their own way. Every child is an asset to society. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while addressing the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Children’s Festival organized at Nabadiganta Club in Jaynagar today.
The Chief Minister said that every child is born with unique talents. Therefore, each child is a future resource and has the potential to create new history in their respective fields. Children should be allowed to grow in a transparent and healthy environment and be loved wholeheartedly. Parents and teachers must give special importance to this responsibility.
He further stated that the state government has arranged training programs for teachers to provide children with modern and effective education. The clearer the understanding of child management, the better education can be imparted to children. Along with regular studies, children should be exposed to healthy cultural activities and encouraged towards spirituality for their physical and mental development. Every child must be shaped into a true human being.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the state government has launched the “Mukhyamantri Sustha Shishubabostha o Sustha Kaishor” (Chief Minister’s Healthy Childhood and Healthy Adolescence) scheme for the overall well-being of children. In the last one year, the scheme has achieved 100 percent success, and a target has been set to bring another three lakh children under its coverage.
He said that children and youth are among the greatest human resources of the country. Keeping this in mind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched initiatives such as “Pariksha Pe Charcha,” “Mann Ki Baat,” and several other programs. Children and youth should be inspired to shape their lives according to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. The Prime Minister is working towards strengthening the country’s human resources and building a developed nation, and in that direction, the state government is also committed to taking Tripura forward through development.
The Chief Minister also noted that the law and order situation in the state is currently very good. For the first time, the state has achieved a high position at the national level in terms of maintaining law and order.
Among others who spoke at the event were Corporator of Ward No. 34 of the Municipal Corporation, Jahanabi Das Chowdhury. The Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA, Deepak Majumder, was present as a special guest. The welcome address was delivered by Abhijit Dutta, Secretary of Nabadiganta Club. Also present were Corporator of Ward No. 35, Tushar Kanti Bhattacharjee, and President of Nabadiganta Club, Gautam Baidya.
