Agartala: Jan 06. Science and Technology and Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma on Tuesday said innovation is no longer confined to large laboratories, as young students are increasingly shaping scientific thought through creativity and research. He was speaking after inaugurating the two-day district-level Children’s Science Exhibition at Kalyanpur in Khowai district.
Addressing students, teachers and guests, the minister said science plays a vital role in guiding civilisation forward and describing the enthusiasm of young innovators as a matter of pride.
He noted that although Tripura once lacked adequate infrastructure for scientific pursuits, joint efforts of the Centre and the state government have now created strong prospects for the expansion of science-related facilities.
Debbarma urged students to nurture innovative ideas through scientific learning, assuring them of continued government support.
Government Chief Whip Kalyani Saha Roy and MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, among other dignitaries, also addressed the gathering, calling for collective efforts to build a science-oriented society.
Later, the minister, legislators and other guests visited various exhibition stalls and interacted with the young participants, appreciating their projects and ideas. The inaugural programme also featured cultural performances by local artists from Kalyanpur.
The two-day exhibition has drawn participation from students of several schools across the district, along with teachers, educationists and members of civil society.
