Tripura, 05 Jan 2026: In view of the prevailing severe cold wave across the state, the Tripura government has decided to close all schools for five days. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha announced the decision through his official social media handle on Monday.
As per the announcement, all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools in Tripura will remain closed from January 6 to January 10, 2026. The decision has been taken considering the difficulties faced by students due to the intense cold weather conditions.
The Chief Minister stated that the safety and well-being of students remain a top priority of the state government, and necessary steps are being taken to protect them from the adverse effects of extreme weather.
Normal academic activities are expected to resume after the scheduled closure, subject to improvement in weather conditions.
