Agartala, August 24: The streets of Agartala came alive on Sunday morning as hundreds of runners participated in the second edition of The Golden Run City Marathon 2025, organized by Swarnakamal Jewellers in association with Kisna Diamond & Gold Jewellery. In just two years, the event has grown into one of the most awaited fitness and community gatherings in the region, drawing participants from Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal.
The spotlight, however, was on Serlibon Terompi from Karbi Anglong, Assam, who secured the first position in the female category. Running the stretch from Umakanta Academy School Ground to Albert Ekka War Memorial Park, she clocked an impressive 28 minutes.

It was her first visit to Tripura, and she could not hide her excitement after the victory. “I am extremely happy and motivated. The city was very clean, and the school buildings here are very good. I will definitely participate again next year,” she said.
The marathon was flagged off by Tinku Roy, Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, and featured three categories – Male, Female, and Senior Citizen. Runners displayed remarkable energy and determination, turning the event into a celebration of fitness and community spirit.
