Kailashahar, 2nd August 2025: In a disturbing and highly unusual theft case that has shocked the community, our cameras have captured a heinous act that stands apart from ordinary crimes. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Irani Police Station in the Hira Chhara ADC Village of Kailashahar sub-division.
As criminal patterns continue to evolve, so do the methods employed by miscreants. With a sharp rise in drug abuse and trafficking, theft-related crimes are becoming increasingly cruel and bizarre. While drug peddlers continue to evade law enforcement, Tripura’s youth face ruin under the grip of addiction. Breaking these drug dens is crucial to saving the state’s next generation.
Now, to the incident in question — a theft like no other. Residents of Hira Chhara, a peaceful labor-class community, were left horrified when they learned of a case involving dog theft and slaughter for meat.
As per reports, Raja Ram, a resident of Ward No. 1 in Hira Chhara, lost his beloved pet dog last Thursday night. It is alleged that three local individuals — Pintu Das, Borobabu Bagti, and Mangal Munda — abducted the dog under the cover of darkness. The dog was taken to one of the accused’s homes, slaughtered, and the meat was not only consumed but also sold in the Halam Bari area.
In a shocking twist, the severed head of the dog was dumped in a nearby pond. Later, one of the accused reportedly retrieved the dog’s head and returned it to Raja Ram, claiming he wasn’t involved in the act. Following this, Raja Ram lodged a formal complaint at Irani Police Station.
Acting swiftly, the police — accompanied by a large force from the OTS unit — conducted a raid and detained two of the suspects. Local sources claim that the group is also linked to previous cases of goat and cat thefts.
The event has sparked outrage among animal lovers and local residents, who are demanding exemplary punishment for the accused. The incident has not only disturbed the tranquility of the village but has also raised questions about human morality.
Raja Ram is now seeking justice through administrative channels. The entire Hira Chhara ADC village remains in shock over this inhuman and grotesque act.
