Agartala, October 2: Tripura will hold the ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’ and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ across all eight districts on October 7 as part of the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said.
The programmes are being organised as part of a nationwide campaign marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service. Preparations were reviewed at an organisational meeting at the state party headquarters on Friday, with emphasis on coordination and participation across the districts.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Chowdhury said the programmes were intended to promote the message of public service and encourage people from different sections of society to participate.
“Through these yatras, we aim to strengthen our collective commitment to public service and carry the message of seva to every section of society,” he said.
The Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra will feature processions centred on the Seva Jyoti, besides cycle and motorcycle rallies at different locations. The programmes are scheduled to be completed before 11 am on October 7, after which Modi’s address will be broadcast live, according to officials.
Chowdhury has stressed the need for greater participation of college students and young people in the events. MLA Abhishek Debroy has also called for increased youth participation.
Preparatory meetings have focused on logistics, coordination and arrangements for conducting the programmes in an organised manner. District Magistrates from all eight districts have participated in virtual discussions on preparations, officials said.
The Information and Cultural Affairs Department has also briefed the organisers on arrangements for the October 7 programme. Officials said the Seva Jyoti events would include rallies and public gatherings at designated locations.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being observed from September 17 to October 17 and comprises a series of programmes aimed at highlighting public service and connecting citizens with the broader theme of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. The official campaign details list the Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra among its major programmes.
The campaign includes several activities related to public outreach, youth participation and service-oriented initiatives.
Chowdhury appealed to officials, organisational representatives and citizens to extend cooperation for the smooth conduct of the October 7 programmes.
He said coordinated participation would help take the message of public service and collective responsibility to people across Tripura.
