Tripura, 29 Sep 2026: Athletes from North Tripura won four medals, including a gold, at the 32nd National Junior Thang Ta Championship 2026 held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
Kanchanpur’s Panna Nath secured the gold medal in the under-48 kg category, finishing first nationally with a strong performance.
Priya Das of Panisagar won the silver medal in the under-40 kg category. Two bronze medals were also secured by North Tripura athletes — Manna Nath of Kanchanpur in the under-56 kg category and Kavya Sharma of Dharmanagar in the under-52 kg category.
The performances brought recognition to the young athletes from Tripura at the national-level championship. Their success has been welcomed by local sports enthusiasts and residents, while various sports organisations extended congratulations and best wishes to the medal winners.
