Tripura, September 21, 2026: The Khowai District Police have intensified security measures ahead of the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Village Committee elections, scheduled for September 28, 2026. As part of efforts to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections, the police conducted a flag march across several election-sensitive areas on Monday.
The flag march began in the Tulashikhar Sub-Zonal area and proceeded through East Rajnagar and Kalabagan before reaching East Takchhaya. The initiative aimed to maintain law and order, prevent untoward incidents and strengthen public confidence in the security arrangements ahead of the polls.
Senior police officials, including Khowai District Police officer Rang Dulal Debbarma, Champahaur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sonesh Debbarma, Khowai Women’s Police Station OC Meena Debbarma, Second Officer Ajit Debbarma and ASI Shyamal Debbarma, participated in the march alongside TSR personnel and other police staff.
The police stated that the primary objective of the flag march was to maintain peace and discipline, ensure a secure environment for residents and facilitate the safe and confident exercise of voting rights.
The security initiative reflects the district police’s preparations to maintain peace and stability throughout the election process.
