Agartala, September 15: A new recreational facility for children is taking shape near Kalyanpur School, where construction and beautification work on the proposed Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Children’s Park is currently underway.
Kalyanpur-Pramodnagar MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury visited the project site on Monday to assess the progress of the ongoing work. He inspected different aspects of the construction and beautification activities and reviewed the tasks that remain to be completed. Asim Deb Roy and others were present during the visit.
The proposed park is intended to create a dedicated outdoor space for children in the Kalyanpur area. Once ready, it is expected to provide youngsters with an opportunity to participate in outdoor recreation and spend their leisure time in a designated public facility.
The project is also expected to benefit families and other residents by providing an additional space for relaxation and community activities. Besides its recreational purpose, the park is likely to contribute to the beautification of the surrounding locality.
The development addresses the need for more child-friendly recreational spaces in the area. Residents have been seeking facilities that can provide youngsters with convenient access to outdoor activities while offering families a suitable place to spend their leisure hours.
During his inspection, the MLA reviewed the pace of work and the remaining construction and finishing activities. Emphasis was placed on completing the pending work at the earliest so that the facility can be opened to the public.
The park is scheduled to be inaugurated after the remaining works are completed. Its addition is expected to strengthen the range of public amenities available in Kalyanpur and provide a dedicated recreational facility for the local community.
The project forms part of ongoing initiatives aimed at improving public infrastructure and the overall environment of the locality. With construction moving ahead, residents are now awaiting the completion of the park and its eventual opening for children and families.
