Tripura, 15 Sep 2026: A 20-year-old youth died tragically after his motorcycle reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway-8 in the Warengbari area under Bishramganj police station on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Subrata Debnath (20), a resident of Kalirambari area under Melaghar police station. His father’s name is Pradip Debnath.
According to local sources, the truck, bearing registration number HR38AC2618, had been parked along the highway for the past two days after one of its tyres suffered a puncture. The vehicle was reportedly left standing without adequate safety measures or proper warning signals.
Sources further claimed that an earlier accident had already occurred at the same spot because of the parked truck. While one of the two persons involved reportedly survived, another sustained injuries.
On Monday night, Subrata was travelling home from Bishramganj market when he reportedly crashed into the stationary truck. Following the collision, he became trapped underneath the truck and died at the spot.
After receiving information about the incident, police reached the location, recovered the body and made arrangements to send it for post-mortem examination.
The repeated accidents allegedly linked to the stationary truck have sparked anger among local residents. They have demanded that adequate safety measures be ensured whenever disabled or damaged vehicles are left on the National Highway to prevent further accidents.
