Tripura, 13 Sep 2026: A Class XI student was allegedly assaulted by several villagers in the Masterpara area of Silachhari under Karbook subdivision following allegations of theft.
According to information provided by the student’s family, an allegation of money theft was made against Rojin Chakma, who allegedly mentioned the name of Prosenjit Tripura in connection with the incident. Prosenjit is a Class XI student and the son of Hari Kumar Tripura, the family said.
The family alleged that following the accusation, several villagers from the Masterpara area took Hari Kumar Tripura to a location near the Kar Bari, reportedly under the supervision of Kar Bari Umakanta Dewan.
According to the family, Prosenjit was subsequently pressured to admit that he had been jointly involved with Rojin Chakma in the alleged theft. The family further alleged that the Class XI student was physically assaulted during the incident.
The allegations have raised concerns among local residents regarding the manner in which the theft accusation was handled and the alleged assault on a minor. Further details regarding any police complaint or official action are awaited.
