Tripura, 22 August 2026: In her first visit to the community-built Garia Academy at Atharabla, Udaipur, NITI Aayog Member Dr. Joram Aniya interacted with students and took a detailed tour of the institution.
Dr. Aniya visited the school premises, hostel and playground, and interacted with students during her visit. The institution is run by Baba Garia Mission and controlled by Jamatia Hoda.
During the visit, discussions focused on grassroots-level educational development and the key priorities for strengthening tribal education in Tripura.
Dr. Aniya appreciated the efforts and initiatives undertaken by Jamatia Hoda in building and developing the institution through community participation. She expressed her appreciation for the work being carried out for the education and development of tribal students.
She also assured that she would extend all possible support towards strengthening educational initiatives and other developmental efforts associated with the institution.
Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Shri Ram Pada Jamatia, along with Okras and members of Jamatia Hoda, welcomed the NITI Aayog member during her visit.
The visit is being viewed as an important moment for community-led education in Tripura, particularly in strengthening opportunities for students from tribal communities.
