Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will leave for New Delhi on Wednesday, where he is likely to hold a series of meetings, including discussions related to the forthcoming elections.
Speaking to reporters before his departure, the Chief Minister said that although there is no pre-decided agenda for the visit, election-related discussions may take place during his stay in the national capital.
“We often visit Delhi for different requirements. Sometimes it is for organisational purposes, while on many occasions it is for administrative matters. This time, I am going to Delhi. While there is no fixed agenda, there is a strong possibility that we will have discussions related to the forthcoming elections,” Dr. Saha said.
The Chief Minister indicated that visits to New Delhi are a routine part of governance and party coordination, as they involve consultations on administrative issues, developmental projects and organisational matters. He, however, did not specify the leaders he is expected to meet or the duration of his visit.
With elections approaching, political observers believe the visit could include consultations with the BJP’s central leadership on organisational preparedness, election strategy and other key political issues concerning Tripura.
Dr. Saha’s visit comes at a time when political activities are gaining momentum in the state, with major parties intensifying organisational programmes and preparations ahead of the upcoming electoral process.
While maintaining that no formal schedule has been finalised, the Chief Minister reiterated that discussions on the forthcoming elections are likely to be part of his engagements in New Delhi. His visit is expected to include both administrative and organisational interactions before he returns to the state.
