Patna, July 27, 2026: The Bihar government has announced a series of measures providing relief to individuals who took part in protests over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.
In a press release issued by the Home Department on July 27, the government said that no punitive or retaliatory legal action will be taken against anyone who participated in the protests before 6:00 PM on July 26, 2026, anywhere in the state.
The government further stated that it will immediately initiate the legal process to withdraw all FIRs, criminal complaints, and show-cause notices filed against protesters in connection with the demonstrations before the specified deadline.
Additionally, all persons arrested or detained in cases registered before 6:00 PM on July 26 will be released immediately.
The press release also assures that no direct or indirect action will be taken against these individuals in the future regarding their participation in the protests.
The announcement comes amid ongoing public outrage over the alleged NEET-UG examination irregularities, with students across Bihar demanding transparency, accountability, and reforms in the examination and higher education system.
