Tripura, 16 June 2026: The Chief Minister said that the state government has undertaken various initiatives to improve the socio-economic condition of the people and remains committed to the welfare of those living in backward areas.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha virtually inaugurated 15 development projects in Dhalai district, including the newly constructed three-storey building of Halahali Higher Secondary School in Kamalpur. The projects include renovation of Ambassa Degree College, the three-storey building of Kamalpur English Medium Higher Secondary School, additional classrooms, hostel and library construction at Salema Higher Secondary School, two new Anganwadi centres, a bus terminal, three CC roads, a paver block road, and two rural roads. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for a Primary Health Centre at Salema and a bridge at Shantirbazar.

Addressing the gathering at Halahali Higher Secondary School, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several developmental projects are being implemented across the state, with special emphasis on the welfare of underprivileged people. He said Tripura has earned recognition as a leading state in the country. Various initiatives are being implemented for educational development, including Smart Classes, Nipun Tripura, and bicycle distribution to students. Work is underway to build 27 model schools. Healthcare services in the state have also improved significantly compared to earlier times.
The Chief Minister further said that healthcare facilities have been ensured for all through the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, PM Kisan, and PM Janman have extended government benefits to people in all sections of society.
He noted that Prime Minister Modi has given special importance to women’s empowerment, and the state government has also taken several measures in this direction. Around 55,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed, involving more than five lakh women. Schemes such as Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana, Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana have been introduced. The Chief Minister stated that Tripura has received 350 national awards in recognition of the successful implementation of government programmes, and that NITI Aayog has praised the state government’s work. He called upon everyone to participate in efforts for the development of all sections of society.
At the programme, MLA Manoj Kanti Deb delivered the vote of thanks, while Dhalai District Magistrate Vivek H.B. gave the welcome address. The Chief Minister also flagged off vehicles for the collection of waste under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Among those present were Dhalai Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sushmita Das, MLA Swapna Das Paul, Education Secretary Dr. Nalin Ramteke, Special Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapan Kumar Das, and Dhalai Superintendent of Police R. Deshmukh.
