Agartala, June 16: The North District Police on Tuesday held a district-level crime review meeting to assess the prevailing law and order situation and strengthen public safety measures across the district.
The meeting, chaired by North District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, reviewed the overall crime scenario, progress of ongoing investigations and the effectiveness of policing initiatives. Senior police officers and officers-in-charge of various police stations attended the meeting.
During the review, the SP directed officers to adopt a proactive policing approach to prevent crimes before they occurred and ensure strict vigilance against criminal activities. Emphasis was laid on improving the quality and speed of investigations, enhancing inter-departmental coordination and ensuring prompt action to maintain law and order.
The meeting also stressed the use of modern techniques in crime detection and the need for greater professionalism, transparency and accountability in investigations to ensure timely justice for victims.
Addressing the officers, Rai reiterated that public safety remains the top priority of the district police and asserted that no criminal activity would be tolerated. He said the North District Police would continue its sustained efforts to maintain peace, security and law and order in the district.
