Agartala, June 7: In a significant recognition of her contribution to the field of art and culture, renowned Tripura-based cultural personality Panchali Debbarma has been nominated as a Member of the Board of Governors of the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

According to official information, Debbarma will serve on the Board for a tenure of two years. The appointment acknowledges her longstanding efforts in promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of Tripura and the Northeast.
Her nomination is being viewed as a matter of pride for the state, as it brings Tripura’s cultural representation to a key institution responsible for fostering and promoting the diverse cultural traditions of the Northeastern region.
The NEZCC is one of the seven zonal cultural centres established by the Ministry of Culture to preserve, promote and disseminate the rich cultural heritage of India, with a special focus on the Northeast.
