Agartala, June 07: Higher Education, Panchayat and General Administration Minister Kishore Barman today alleged that government employees were subjected to exploitation, intimidation and forced collections during previous regimes.
Addressing a blood donation camp organised by the Nalchar Unit of the Tripura Rajya Karmachari Sangha at Dashami Ghat Community Hall, the minister claimed that employees earlier faced pressure through compulsory donations and threats of transfer.
“Earlier, blood was not donated; it was exploited. Poor people and government employees were exploited. In many offices, employees had no voice and were forced to work under pressure,” Barman alleged while inaugurating the programme.
The blood donation and health camp witnessed participation from employees and local residents from different parts of the sub-division. Organisers said nearly 100 people donated blood during the camp.
Among those present were Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, Nalchar Block Panchayat Samiti Chairman Swapan Kumar Das, state secretary of the organisation Sutapa Kar, president Partha Pal and other district and unit-level leaders.
