Agartala, Jun 01: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare delivery in remote areas, 10 ASHA Facilitators in Tripura’s Dhalai district were provided with e-cycles on Monday. The distribution programme was organised by the District Health and Family Welfare Society at the conference hall of Ambassa Primary Health Centre.
The e-cycles were provided with support from Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL). The initiative aims to ease transportation challenges faced by ASHA Facilitators and improve access to healthcare services in far-flung and hilly regions of the district.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dhalai Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Sushmita Das. Among others present were Ambassa Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Hemali Debbarma, Medical Officer In-Charge of Ambassa Primary Health Centre Dr. Sangeeta Reang, Dr. Sudhir Debbarma and other officials.
Addressing the gathering, Sushmita Das said the environment-friendly e-cycles would significantly enhance the mobility and efficiency of ASHA Facilitators working in Dhalai’s difficult terrain. She added that the initiative would help ensure faster and better healthcare services for people living in remote areas.
The programme concluded with the formal handover of e-cycles to the 10 ASHA Facilitators, who expressed happiness and gratitude for the support.
