Tripura, 03 May: After an intensive three-day search operation, the body of Rakesh Shil was recovered from a river near Kishan Chandranagar on Sunday around 11 AM. The operation involved teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Gokulnagar CTI’s second unit, and the TSR underwater deep diving team.
Following the recovery, personnel from Amtali Police Station and the Fire Department rushed to the spot. Family members broke down in grief upon seeing his lifeless body, casting a pall of mourning over the area.
According to police sources, Rakesh Shil had drowned in the river near Ishan Chandranagar School last Friday. Rescue teams had been conducting continuous search efforts since then. After legal formalities, the body will be sent to Hapania Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway.
