Tripura, 21 Sep 2025: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Mata Bari, traffic restrictions have been imposed on National Highway 8 in Sepahijala district as per the district administration’s directive on 21 and 22 September 2025. A trial run will be conducted on 21 September from 12 noon.
According to the order, the stretch of the national highway from Uttam Bhakta Chowmuhani to Bishalgarh Bypass up to Pathaliaghat will remain under certain restrictions. On 21 and 22 September from 12 noon until the departure of the VVIPs, parking of four-wheelers and two-wheelers will not be allowed on this route. Vehicles must be parked behind the bamboo barricades constructed along the roadside. Shopkeepers and traders on both sides of the highway have been directed not to keep any goods on the road.
Passengers traveling to the airport or railway station via Bishalgarh and Bishramganj have been advised to cross the restricted section of the highway before 12 noon on those days. Petrol pumps located along this stretch have been requested to suspend their services during the restricted hours.
The road from Bishalgarh Bypass and SDPO Office Chowmuhani to Bishalgarh Motor Stand will remain closed to the general public, except for vehicles engaged in emergency services. However, the road from SDPO Chowmuhani to Officetilla via Bishalgarh Motor Stand will remain open for public use.
Private vehicles coming from South and Gomati districts have been advised to use the Melaghar-Sonamura-Kalamchoura route. Vehicles from Bishalgarh and Bishramganj have been advised to take either the Bishalgarh-Madhupur-Agartala route or the Bishramganj-Itbhatta-Takarjala-Srinagar route.
These restrictions will not apply to ambulances and fire service vehicles. The information was issued in an official statement by the Sepahijala district administration.
