Agartala, Sept 16: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, has launched the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan on July 10, 2025, under the Dharati Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA). The initiative, guided by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to build a “Viksit Bharat” through service, dedication, and collective resolve.
The mission’s primary goal is to empower tribal communities across 1 lakh tribal-dominated villages in 550+ districts and 3,000 blocks, by training 20 lakh cadres who will work towards capacity building, integration, and ensuring participation from all sections of society.

The initiative will create three categories of trained cadres:
Adi Karmayogis – Government officials and staff at state, district, block, and panchayat levels, ensuring coordination and effective service delivery. Adi Sahayogis – Teachers, doctors, social workers, and educated tribal youth who will focus on education, health, and awareness. Adi Saathis – SHG members, villagers, elders, and cultural figures who will mobilize communities and preserve traditions.
To strengthen last-mile service delivery, each tribal village will have a “Adi Seva Kendra” (service center). Regular community engagement initiatives such as “Seva Samay” (weekly grievance redressal) and “Seva Diwas” (monthly service drive) will also be organized.
In Tripura, the mission aims to impact nearly 8 lakh tribal people in 392 revenue villages, with the training of 8 State Master Trainers, 40 District Master Trainers, 260 Block Master Trainers, and 15 development workers in each DA-JGUA village.
From September 1–7, 2025, a Regional Process Lab was held in Shillong to train the eight State Master Trainers. The State Orientation Programme and State Process Lab will be inaugurated tomorrow at Pragya Bhawan by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha as Chief Guest. Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma will also attend, along with T. Rouman Paite, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Dr. K. Shashikumar, Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura.
Further training sessions will follow, including the State Process Lab for District Master Trainers (Sept 16–19, 2025) and District Process Labs (Sept 23–25, 2025). As part of the mission’s capacity-building phase, a special “Seva Parv” (service fortnight) will be held across all DA-JGUA villages in Tripura from Sept 17 to Oct 2, 2025, featuring engagement camps, special gram sabhas, health camps, and awareness drives.
As part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan will strengthen grassroots governance, empower tribal leadership, and ensure integrated administration from the national to panchayat levels, steering the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The Tribal Welfare Department has appealed to all citizens of the state to come forward and make the best use of this initiative.
