Agartala, Sept 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the nationwide campaign ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’ on September 17. As part of the initiative, health camps will be organized across the country, along with the inauguration of the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah and the provision of benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana for pregnant women. The campaign is being described as a historic step towards strengthening healthcare and nutrition services for women, adolescents, and children across India.






The ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’ aims to advance the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047 through better healthcare, nutrition, and wellness. The campaign will run from September 17 to October 2 at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), district hospitals, and other government health facilities across the country. More than one lakh health camps are being organized—making it the largest-ever healthcare outreach program for women and children. Health camps will be conducted daily at all government health facilities during this period.
In Tripura, the state-level inaugural event will be held at Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital, following the nationwide launch via video conferencing. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha will attend as the chief guest. District-level inaugurations will also take place simultaneously across the state.
To strengthen preventive healthcare for women, 12 categories of health services are being provided at health centres, including: antenatal check-ups and counselling, child health and immunization services, adolescent healthcare, screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), oral, breast, and cervical cancer screening, anaemia testing and menstrual health awareness, tuberculosis screening, mental health awareness, nutrition-related programs, awareness on sickle cell anaemia and anaemia prevention, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Digital Mission services, eye, ENT and geriatric care, Eat Right Movement activities, organ and blood donation camps, and Ayush services.
From September 17 to October 2, Tripura will organize 152 health camps, 7,231 awareness programs, and 40 blood donation camps. On the first day, a special health camp will be held at GBP Hospital with 14 dedicated health service stalls, including separate stalls for medicine, paediatrics, and gynaecology, where specialist doctors will provide OPD services. Free health camps will also be conducted in all districts.
The inaugural function will also be attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Health & Family Welfare Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, National Health Mission Mission Director Saju Wahid A, Director of Health Services Prof. (Dr.) Tapan Majumder, and Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine Dr. Anjan Das, among other dignitaries, according to the Health Department.
