Guwahati, September 1 (SHABD): In a bid to make healthcare more accessible, two young entrepreneurs from Assam have developed a mobile application called BYDON, designed to help people book medical consultations and locate voluntary blood donors with ease.
The app has been created by Pallav Nath and Bhushan Jyoti Basa, both of whom say they wanted to bridge existing gaps in healthcare access particularly in doctor availability and blood donation during emergencies.

BYDON offers two main services: patients or their families can book appointments with doctors and veterinarians in advance, and they can also search for voluntary blood donors by group and location. While the donor search facility is free, a nominal fee of ₹35 is charged for appointment bookings.
According to its developers, the app currently has over 2,000 registered blood donors and receives five to six donor requests daily. More than 100 doctors, including veterinary professionals, are also listed on the platform.
Explaining the idea behind the initiative, the founders said they noticed a major gap between patients, doctors, and emergency services. “We wanted to build a simple platform where people could quickly find a doctor or a blood donor when they need them most,” said co-founder Pallav Nath.
The process of registering as a donor is straightforward: users provide their name, location, blood group, and phone number. Patients in need can then connect with volunteers directly through the app.
BYDON is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms. The founders say the app has already begun to attract attention outside Assam, and they hope to expand its reach to more states in the near future.
With a growing base of donors and healthcare providers, BYDON aims to become a reliable support system for patients and families facing time-sensitive medical needs.
