Tripura, August 24: Another tragic death has jolted Udaipur, a city increasingly haunted by reports of accidents and suicides.
On Sunday afternoon, 18-year-old college student Sakai Mog was found dead at her rented accommodation in the Udaipur Police Lines area.
According to sources, Sakai, originally from Shilakari (Haza Shila), had been living in the house of Kokan Chandra Day since July 25 to pursue her studies. She was enrolled as a first-semester student of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya.
Around 4 PM, one of her friends visited the house and, upon entering, discovered Sakai hanging from the ceiling with a noose. The friend screamed for help, prompting neighbors and nearby residents to rush to the spot.
Police were soon informed and have recovered the body. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of death.
While initial observations suggest suicide, neighbors say Sakai appeared upset earlier in the day, but no clear reason has yet emerged. The tragic incident has created a wave of shock and confusion in the locality.
