Tripura, August 19: The 117th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the Modern Architect of Tripura, was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state today. Various programs were organized by the TTAADC government to honor the visionary king whose ideas laid the foundation of modern Tripura.

The day began with TTAADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purna Chandra Jamatia distributing sweets among the students of St. John High School. Speaking on the occasion, the CEM said that the TTAADC government is working with the same vision of the Maharaja, who dreamt of building a new Tripura. He also highlighted the importance of embracing digital education, stating, “Today’s generation loves digital learning, and we must adopt this for building smart classrooms.”
The second program was held at Nayungma Hall, Raio, where CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia celebrated with villagers by cutting a cake in memory of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Debbarma.

Later, at Singlong village in Killa, the CEM distributed GSI sheets to flood-affected families as part of the celebrations. He emphasized that welfare activities for the people reflect the Maharaja’s vision of inclusive development.

The day concluded with a spirited Friendly Football Match between the West Zone and East Zone at the Garia Academy Ground, Killa. After an electrifying contest, the West Zone clinched victory through a tie-breaker free kick. The match was attended by the Hoda Okras of Jamatia Hoda along with other dignitaries. Sweets were also distributed among football fans, students, and parents of Garia Academy who gathered to witness the game.
The series of events throughout the day reflected the deep respect and admiration that the people of Tripura continue to hold for Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Debbarma, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire generations.
