Khayerpur Mandal BJP President Manna Dey Suspended from Party
Agartala, May 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tripura State Executive Committee today suspended Manna Dey, Mandal President of Khayerpur and office bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), from all party activities with immediate effect.
The suspension order, issued by BJP Tripura’s State General Secretary Ratan Nath, cited Dey’s alleged “indiscipline and activities contrary to the party’s values and policies.” The directive further stated that Dey would no longer be allowed to participate in any party-related programs or organizational activities.

The press notification, however, carried the date 24-05-2025, which has already triggered questions among observers about the accuracy of the document’s issuance date. More significantly, political circles are abuzz over why the party kept the decision hanging for almost three months before suddenly making it public. Speculation is rife that despite several controversies, a section of the party leadership may have initially tried to shield Manna Dey, leading to internal rifts within the organization.
Reacting to the development, Manna Dey took to social media to express his disappointment. He wrote, “I have become a victim of a bigger conspiracy. For the sake of certain vested interests, without verifying the truth, attempts are being made to malign my personal life through a series of conspiracies. I love my party deeply, and I respect every decision of the party. But I urge all senior leaders to ensure that no other individual falls prey to such betrayal for the benefit of others.”
He also thanked his fellow BJYM colleagues and youth supporters for standing by him during his tenure, assuring that his social service initiatives would continue. “I will carry on with social work in the days to come,” Dey added, ending his post with the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
This suspension marks the latest disciplinary action taken by the BJP Tripura leadership, even as questions mount over timing, transparency, and growing factional tussles within the party.
