Tripura, 12 August 2025: Thanks to the tireless efforts of health workers, a severe wound was successfully healed. Dhanyarung Reang, a 42-year-old resident of the Koifang Primary Health Centre area in South Tripura district, came to the centre on June 26, 2025, with a serious injury to his leg. The attending doctor referred him to the South District Shantirbazar District Hospital for advanced treatment.
Due to complications from diabetes, the infection had spread to his Achilles tendon, leaving him completely unable to walk. Surgeon Dr. Sanjoy Tripura performed a surgical debridement to clean the wound. However, he informed that plastic surgery and tendon transfer might be required for faster healing. Unfortunately, the patient could not afford such treatment due to financial constraints.
In this situation, under the supervision of Dr. Sanjoy Tripura, OT technician Biswajit Dutta took responsibility for the patient’s long-term wound care. With great patience, he continued dressing the wound for nearly two months. Through the relentless dedication of the doctor and the health workers, the wound gradually healed, and the patient regained the ability to walk normally.
Dr. Sanjoy Tripura stated that it was only because of Biswajit Dutta’s precise skill and patient care that the patient’s severely infected tendon and leg recovered. He also mentioned that Biswajit Dutta has previously set remarkable examples of success in caring for many other patients.
