Tripura, 31 July 2025: In a swift and effective operation, police personnel of Chawmanu Police Station under Longtharai Valley subdivision successfully recovered a stolen motorbike and apprehended two individuals involved in the crime. The incident took place on July 29, 2025, in Chawmanu.
According to police sources, a TSR jawan who had returned home on leave had parked his black Pulsar 150 motorcycle (registration number TR 04 D 5920) at a neighbor’s residence. When he returned the next day, he found the bike missing and immediately lodged a complaint with the local police station.
CCTV footage from the area showed two unidentified persons taking away the vehicle. Although their faces were not clearly visible, police launched an intensive investigation based on available leads.
On the morning of July 31, a police team from Chawmanu PS, along with support from a local police outpost, traced the stolen bike to Gandacherra. Acting on intelligence inputs, they managed to not only recover the bike but also arrest both accused.
The two arrested have been identified as: Kartik Kumar Tripura, 27, son of Somali Tripura, resident of Gandacherra, Bimal Riyat, 31, son of Angjay Tripura, hailing from Dhan Babu Para, Gandacherra.
Both accused were brought to Chawmanu Police Station for questioning and were later produced before the court at around 2 PM on the same day.
