Srinagar, July 28, 2025: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, security forces neutralised three hardcore Pakistani terrorists in a joint, well-coordinated, and prolonged operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region on Sunday. The operation was conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the codename OP MAHADEV.
The slain terrorists have been identified as Suleman Shah alias Faisal Jaat, Hamza Afgani, and Jibran Bhai—all linked to cross-border terror networks and reportedly involved in the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam.
Security forces recovered two AK-series rifles, one M4 carbine, and a substantial cache of ammunition and war-like stores from the encounter site.
According to the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, the mission marks a critical step towards restoring security and stability in the Kashmir Valley. “The operation reflects the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to establishing peace and promoting development in the region,” the statement said.
Sources confirm that the operation is still ongoing as security personnel continue combing operations in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining threats.
This successful mission has been hailed as a decisive blow to cross-border terrorism and a reaffirmation of India’s robust counter-insurgency capabilities.
